History of the Worthington Interfaith Prayer Breakfast
The Worthington Prayer Breakfast Group started in 1967, and currently meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at La Chatelaine restaurant in Worthington for non-denominational prayer and study. Its members serve as volunteers for the annual event.

The local prayer breakfast is modeled after the national prayer breakfast held every year in Washington, D.C. The national breakfast was started by President Dwight Eisenhower in the 1950s when he realized that, following the destruction of World War II, people needed to work together to restore the world from hatred.
