The City of Worthington has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for Fiscal Year 2018. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. "The receipt of this award is indicative of the high degree of dedication and leadership on the part of the City’s finance team, along with City management and the City’s elected officials," said Worthington Finance Director Scott Bartter. This is the first year the City of Worthington has received this award.
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate community members and other users to read the CAFR.
