Welcome to the
Worthington Historical Society
In 1803, before they had ever left for lands unseen in "the west," a group of families in western Connecticut and Massachusetts had already made a plan. They put the things they valued most—church, school, and library—at the center of their dream town. They agreed that a "Publick Square" would "remain for a green or parade."
Now, 200 years later, Worthington, Ohio still retains that classic design, thanks in large part to the Worthington Historical Society.
