The Literary Arts with Frederick Busch

.  "Master Craftsman."..."An immensely gifted and mindful writer."..." A writer of intelligence and tenderness."..."One of the finest contemporary American writers today." These are a few of many accolades spoken about Frederick Busch, American novelist, short story writer and essayist.

Busch is Fairchild Professor of Literature at Colgate University and nominee for the PEN/Faulkner Award for The Children in the Woods: New and Selected Stories and The Night Inspector. With over 20 novels and three works of non-fiction to his credit, Busch has been described as a “writer’s writer”. Frederick Busch peoples his writing with ordinary, albeit intelligent people who attempt to lead “just and ...loving lives.” The domesticity that inhabits his work is the vehicle by which he seeks to convey the extraordinariness of everyday life. Marriages, relationships, the death of children, the impact of war on ordinary citizens, and the inner workings of ones’ life all are revealed in his writing. Sit back to listen and enjoy a lively evening with a charming, engaging American author.

Presiding for the evening: Mr. David Citino, professor in the Creative Writing Department at The Ohio State University.

Advance copies of Mr. Busch's newest novel, "A Memory of War" will be available for sale and for signing by the author.
