Wagon Train Itinerary
July 8 - 14

Departure Date:  Tuesday, July 8

 Directions to the Encampment:  The camp is located at West Jefferson high School. From 1-70, take Exit 85--Rt.142. Go south on Rt. 142 for about 2 miles, turn right on to Rt. 40 and travel in to downtown West Jefferson.  Turn left on Walnut Street (next to the First Merit Bank) and travel less than a 1/2 mile to Garfield Street.  Turn left on Garfield and then right on Lilly Chapel.  West Jefferson High School is about a 1/2 mile down on the left.  There are also signs to help direct you to the school.

ITINERARY: Train travels along US 40, stopping at Krazy Glue Factory and then proceeds to the Red Brick Tavern for lunch. Crossing into Clark County, train sets up camp at Trinadad Ranch. (16.2 miles)


DEPARTURE DATE - July 9

DIRECTIONS TO THE ENCAMPMENT: The camp is located at Trinadad Ranch, 12496 E. National Road. Take I-70 to exit 72, turning left/south onto SR-56/Urbana-London Road; turn right/west onto US-40/National Road. Follow approximately 2 miles tothe ranch.

ITINERARY: From Trinidad Ranch, the train proceeds west, making a lunch stop at Harmony Farm Market, before arriving at Springfield Heritage Center for a welcoming ceremony. Train then continues to Snyder Park in Springfield where camp is set up. (16.6 miles)


DEPARTURE DATE - July 10

DIRECTIONS TO THE ENCAMPMENT: The camp is at Snyder Park. Take I-70 to US-68/Springfield; follow North/US-68 and exit off at SR-4/US-40/Columbia turning right/east, Synder Park will be on your immediate left

ITINERARY: Day is set aside to rest animals. No traveling scheduled for today. A number of wagons will take part in programs at the Heritage Center, Pennsylvania House and George Rogers Clark Park.


DEPARTURE DATE - July 11

DIRECTIONS TO THE ENCAMPMENT: The camp is at Snyder Park. Take I-70 to US-68/Springfield; follow North/US-68 and exit off at SR-4/US-40/Columbia turning right/east, Synder Park will be on your immediate left

ITINERARY: From Snyder Park, train continues along National Road, stopping at Mearshon’s Clydesdale Farm, before taking lunch at Tecumseh High School. Train continues to Good Thunder Equine Ranch before crossing into Miami County and setting up camp at Brandt Friendship Park. (13.6 miles)


DEPARTURE DATE - July 12

DIRECTIONS TO THE ENCAMPMENT: The camp is at Brandt Friendship Park. From I-70, exit off at SR-201 turning right/north on SR-201/Troy Pike; follow to US-40/National Road turning left/west; turn right/north onto 4th Street, Brandt Friendship Park will be right in front of you.

ITINERARY: Train enters Montgomery County on US 40 via Taylorsville Park/Dam where lunch is served. After stopping at Trapshooting Hall of Fame in Vandalia, train sets up camp at Aullwood Farm. (14.7 miles)


DEPARTURE DATE - July 13

DIRECTIONS TO THE ENCAMPMENT: Camp is located at Aullwood Farm, 1000 Aullwood Drive. From I-70, to exit 32/Dayton Airport access Road; left/west onto US-40/W. National Road; follow US-40 to Aullwood Road  turning left/south into the farm.

ITINERARY: After leaving Aullwood Farm, train stops at Englewood Centennial Park and continues to Arlington Township Offices for lunch. Crossing into Preble County, train goes into Lewisburg where camp is set up in Lewisburg Park. (14.2 miles)


DEPARTURE DATE - July 14

DIRECTIONS TO LEWISBURG PARK ENCAMPMENT: From I-70, take to exit 14, turning right/north onto SR-503.  SR-503 will take you into the center of Lewisburg and Park.

ITINERARY: From Lewisburg Park, train travels to National Trail School for lunch and other activities and then continues on to New Paris, the final stop and celebration of the Wagon Train crossing Ohio, where encampment takes place at the New Paris American Legion Field. (14 miles)

DIRECTIONS TO THE NEW PARIS AMERICAN LEGION FIELD: From I-70, take to exit 156 turning right/east onto US-40/Paint Road; left/north onto SR-320/S. Washington Street; left/west onto SR-121/W. Cherry Street, American Legion will be on your right.
