The Scioto Company is the name of the land holding partnership formed by a group of Connecticut pioneers who became the founders of Worthington. Led by James Kilbourne, these men and their families took the journey-of-a-lifetime to form a new community in the Ohio frontier.

"The Scioto Company" is a new play written exclusively for the Worthington Bicentennial Celebration. The play was written by 1979 Worthington High School graduate Brian Burgess Clark, an award winning playwright and Emmy nominee. "The Scioto Company" is a dramatic story of the founding of Worthington by James Kilbourne. With humor and pathos, it tells of the decision to form a new community in uncharted territory far from the settlers' Connecticut homes. James and his wife Lucy share an adventure, a dream, and a deep, abiding love for one another. Bronwynn Hopton, Theater Director for Thomas Worthington High School, directs the play.

All performances took place at the Cardinal Theatre, Thomas Worthington High School, 300 W. Dublin-Granville Road.
