Recommendation: Approval of April 14, 2008 – Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes as presented.
PUBLIC HEARINGS ON LEGISLATION:
Attached is a memorandum from the Development Coordinator detailing each proposed amendment to the Ordinance.
Recommendation: Approval of the ordinance as amended.
Bids were opened on Friday, May 23, 2008 for the 2008 Street Improvement Program. Attached is a memorandum packet from the City Engineer. This packet also includes the bid tabulation.
Recommendation: Approval of the ordinance as presented.
NEW LEGISLATION TO BE INTRODUCED:
(Legislation Introduced this Date Begins With: Ordinance No. 26-2008 and Resolution No. 20-2008)
This Ordinance would amend Section 151.02 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Worthington to revise the Composition of the Municipal Records Commission. The current City Records Commission is comprised of the Mayor, President of Council, City Manager, Director of Law and the City Clerk.
The Ohio Law has been amended to change the composition of the Records Commission to Include the Chief Executive, or his representative, as chairperson, the Chief Fiscal Officer, the Chief Legal Officer, and a citizen appointed by the Chief Executive. The Records Commission must also appoint a Secretary, who may or may not be a member of the Commission and who shall serve at the pleasure of the Commission.
Recommendation: Introduce the Ordinance for public hearing on June 16th.
This Resolution would approve directional signage and free-standing signage for the Worthington Station Office Condominiums. Attached is the Amendment to the Development Plan application packet. The applicant is proposing (a) directional signage (larger and higher than allowed by code); and (b) free standing signage (larger than allowed by code) Variances are included for the directional signage and free standing signage. The request comes to Council from the Planning Commission with a recommendation of approval.
Recommendation: Municipal Planning Commission recommends approval.

6. Motion
Attached is a memorandum from the Director of Parks and Recreation discussing lowering the senior age requirement to 55 years old and those who are retired for participation at the Griswold Center.
Recommendation: Approval of request as presented
Information Item:
The Griswold Center staff is investigating opportunities for trips that include air travel. The City staff currently facilitates bus trips for Senior Center participants and desires to add trips by plane to the portfolio of offerings for its members. This is an effort to expand programming that attracts membership, generates revenue, and keeps us competitive with similar facilities in Central Ohio. Attached is a memo from the Director of Parks and Recreation detailing the progress of the investigation.
