REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS:
Worthington Arts Center
This item is informational and intended to provide the City Council with a verbal update on the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center efforts to date. The update will include a status on the following: construction design and ARB review, fundraising, the green study, creation of the new operating entity, and drafting of other legal documents (lease, grant agreement, and operating agreements).
Recommendation: Not applicable
NEW LEGISLATION TO BE INTRODUCED:
(Legislation Introduced this Date Begins With: Ordinance No. 18-2008 and Resolution No. 14 2008)
Level 3 Communications, LLC. based in Colorado has acquired the fiber facilities of ICG Communications, WilTel Communications Group and TelCove, Inc. All three of these firms operated telecommunications systems in Worthington and had right-of-way agreements with the City. This Ordinance would approve a Right-of-Way Agreement with Level 3 and replace the existing agreements. The agreements with ICG and Adelphia have expired and the WilTel agreement expires at the end of this year. Attached is the letter from Level 3 requesting an agreement with the City.
Recommendation: Introduce the Ordinance approving the Agreement and set the date for public hearing on April 21, 2008.
2. Code Change – Amending Section 1101.03(d) of the Code to Update Traffic and Environmental Impact on Subdivisions.
This Ordinance would incorporate further amendments to the subdivision regulations proposed by Council Member Norstrom and discussed by Council at last Monday’s meeting.
Recommendation: Introduce the Ordinance approving the Agreement and set the date for public hearing on April 21, 2008.
