Make it Happen! :

These projects can come to fruition more quickly with your contributions and perhaps more importantly, your active support. If a project really interests you, rally others. Talk to your neighbors and friends. Print a map and show them; email them this link: ( www.worthington.org/civic/guide_full_directory.cfm#WorthingtonGardenClub ) . If your ball team/tennis team etc. use a project site, get your teammates or even the entire league on-board. Contact the Garden Club and we can denote ( on the maps ) which trees your group is funding.

Memorial Trees:

If you are interested in a memorial tree, please contact us. In addition to the projects currently active, there are other projects in the planning stages. We can work together to find a suitable memorial. In general, we are planning for large and medium/large size trees rather than smaller flowering trees. When choosing a tree, consider durability and longevity as well. Working within our current plans will eliminate additional approval efforts as these tasks have already been completed. Most planned installations will be done in the autumn.

Markers: Markers are no longer placed at the tree. Instead, you can purchase a brick to have installed at the memorial garden located at the Worthington Community Center. Contact the Garden Club for more details.

As a Gift:

Contributing to a particular tree is a great gift idea. Tell family and friends which tree you favor. Surprise someone with a truly unique gift. Here are some gift occasions:

Births
Celebrate a special day
Weddings
Anniversaries
Memorials
Congratulations
Thank You
Graduations
Just Because
Reunions
Arbor Day
Special Achievements

Civic Organizations:

These are great service projects for civic organizations. Fund a group of trees or even an entire project. Include a inscribed bench, picnic table or a boulder. Contact the Garden Club to learn more about posted and future projects.

Scouts:

These projects are a great way for Scouting organizations to support Worthington while learning about trees and tree care. The troupe can visit the nursery and select the trees for planting. Participate on installation day and see the equipment and personnel involved in planting; help with the backfill and mulching tasks. Contact the Garden Club to help facilitate your efforts.

Remember, the trees you provide will be enjoyed for years, decades and maybe even centuries to come. What can be a better gift to Worthington and her citizens?
