The annual Street Improvement Program is designed, inspected and managed by our staff. This program typically includes the rehabilitation of up to a dozen residential and collector streets consisting of curb and gutter and sidewalk repairs, construction of ADA compliant curb ramps, the installation of a new asphalt surface and striping. Curb inlet repairs, patching, striping and other repairs are usually completed on several other streets.
Arterial Resurfacing Projects
The Department of Service and Engineering designs and handles all aspects of a yearly arterial resurfacing program funded in part by the state license tax. This project typically includes the rehabilitation of all or a portion of an arterial street such as High St, Dublin-Granville Rd, Huntley Rd, Wilson Bridge Rd, Linworth Rd, Snouffer Rd, Olentangy River Rd and Schrock Rd. This project includes curb and gutter and sidewalk repairs, construction of ADA compliant curb ramps, the installation of a new asphalt surface and striping.
When special expertise is required improvement projects are designed by a consultant with the division providing management and sometimes inspection services. Recent examples include the 2009 Building Improvement Project and the 2009 Traffic Signal Improvements.
Two recent examples of non roadway projects completely designed, managed and inspected by the division are the Walnut Grove Cemetery Sewer Drainage Improvement and the Davis Estates Subdivision Waterline Improvements.
