Important Announcement

The Worthington Parks and Recreation Department has changed the manner in which they distribute their program information. The Griswold Center, 777 High Street and the Community Center, 345 E. Wilson Bridge Road, have combined their calendar of events into a new design, available in the Suburban News Publication bag on August 11. This new design for the fall brochure is a joint, newspaper style publication format that will also be available for pick up at either location on Aug. 13. We hope this updated, convenient method of presenting activities at both centers to the public, will augment our service to the Worthington area. For additional information call the Griswold Center at 614-842-6320 and the Community Center at 614-436-2743.

The Town Hall, Kitchen, Thompson Room, Topping Room and Buttles Conference Room are available for rental through the Worthington Griswold Center. Permits are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and will be issued around Senior Center programming.

Application Process
Permit inquiries and requests may be made by calling 842-6320 or in person at the Griswold Center. A permit form must be completed and submitted with the rental payment to confirm the rental. The individual applying for the permit is responsible for being present during the entire permitted time. Requests must be made at least 5 days prior to rental.

Fees
Fees are established based on number of people, type of room and residency. Groups consisting of more than 50 participants pay twice the hourly rate and groups with more than 100 participants pay 3 times the hourly rate.

Common Rental Usage
The rooms and some equipment are available for anniversaries, meetings, seminars, classes, private parties, or for other purposes that do not compete with our programs. Please be aware that no alcohol is allowed on the premises. Groups are responsible for their own set-up and tear down of tables and chairs.

Repeated Use and Equipment Fees
To qualify for the resident rate, any adult group or organization reserving a room for multiple days must also submit a roster verifying that 75 percent of the group's membership lives or works in the City of Worthington. Use of certain equipment is available for rent at an additional fee.

Many Griswold members volunteer their time and donate items, which make it possible for the Griswold Center to present its varied program schedule.  Volunteers are utilized as instructors, desk receptionists, cookie bakers, and more.  Anyone interested in volunteering at the Griswold Center may fill out and return our volunteer application, or just give us a call at 842-6320.  We appreciate all of the help and support that our volunteers provide!
