Leaf Collection
 The Worthington Service Department offers leaf collection services to all Worthington residents during the autumn season. The Department's goal is to provide efficient and effective leaf collection that is convenient for residents. Each street will receive collection once per week. Limited staffing and weather restrict us from being able to schedule particular streets on particular days. Please follow the guidelines below to facilitate efficient collection.
Leaf Collection Schedule
New technologies and equipment will allow crews to collect leaves City Wide each week of the scheduled collection season as staffing and weather allow. Collection will take place October 12, 2010 thru December 3, 2010. In order to make sure your leaves are collected, have them raked to the curb by Monday morning of each collection week. We will not guarantee nor schedule collection of leaves raked out later in the week.
Guidelines

All leaves must be raked to the curb - DO NOT PLACE LEAVES IN STREET. Leaves in streets causes storm sewers to clog and creates traffic hazards.

Do not include foreign materials, such as brush, twigs, or grass clippings. Such material damages the leaf vacuum machine.

 Remove vehicles from the street during collection weeks. The leaf vacuum truck will not be able to pick up any leaves blocked by a parked vehicle.

Leaf Collection Crews may come to your house anytime during the scheduled weeks. Please place leaves at the curb by Monday Morning of each week to ensure pick up. The Service Department cannot guarantee collection of leaves placed at the curb late in the week.

Place leaves well away from obstructions such as trees, signs and fire hydrants since the pick up hose cannot reach past these obstructions. Leaves near these obstructions will not be picked up.
Alternatives
Residents have two additional leaf disposal options:

Friday curbside yard waste collection. Residents should place leaves in paper yard bags or in a permanent container labeled (with a decal) "Yard Waste Only."

Yard waste drop-off. Residents may bring leaves directly to the Service Department Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00 PM; and the last Saturday of the month, March through late October, Noon - 3:00PM.
