The Huntley Bowl Park site is used as a drainage retention site but also has been designed for recreational use. The eight-acre site includes parking for 50 automobiles, one athletic field for soccer, football or rugby, and stadium-style seating for several hundred spectators for concerts.

The playing fields and stage areas are 25 feet below the rim of the site. Although in an industrial area of the city, the below-grade field creates a feeling of being in a special place. The waterfall also acts as a sediment basin and the concrete swell diverts the water around the park to the youthful point located in the southwest corner of the site.
