What Has Happened
Emerald Ash Borer
Beetle The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a destructive Asian beetle
discovered in Ohio around 2003. Shortly thereafter, ash trees in
Worthington began showing signs of infestation. At that point in time,
there was no treatment available to fight the pest, and affected trees
in the City Right-Of-Way were assessed and put on a timetable for
removal. Many trees that were in severe decline have been removed, while
others receive annual assessment. To learn more about the EAB and how
to determine if your tree is affected, visit the
EAB Info page.
