Help families in need this holiday season by donating toys and gifts to the Firefighters for Kids drive and food to benefit the Worthington Food Pantry. The drive-thru drop-off for toys, gifts and food is Saturday, December 11 from 8am to 3pm at the Worthington Fire Department, 6500 N. High Street.
Residents who cannot drop off their donations during the drive-thru event can drop off donations anytime before December 24th at the Worthington Fire Department. For more information, call the Worthington Division of Fire at 614-885-7640. For information on critically needed items or if your family is in need of assistance call the City of Columbus Call Center at 3-1-1 or visit 311.columbus.gov.
Toys and gift cards are needed for children of all ages and should be new and unwrapped. There is a particular need for gifts for teenage boys and girls. Cash or check donations are also welcomed. The gifts will be distributed to central Ohio area children who might otherwise go without this holiday season. Cash donations can be made at any CME Credit Union location or online.
Worthington Police are partnering with the Thomas Worthington and Worthington Kilbourne High School football teams to collect food to benefit the Worthington Food Pantry. In the days leading up to the December 11th drop-off, the high schools will have a competition to see which school can collect the most food. The donations made at each school will be dropped off and weighed at the drive-thru event on December 11.
All food donations can be dropped off during the drive-through event or anytime 24/7 at the Worthington Fire Department. A list of needed food items can be found online at worthingtonfoodpantry.org.
