Columbia Gas is upgrading gas lines in the Old Worthington area south of SR-161 this spring and summer. Work will impact approximately 200 households. Those directly impacted will receive communications with further information detailing the project. Work will begin in July and is weather dependent.
The work area is bordered by:
- SR-161 on the north
- Evening Street on the west
- South Street on the south
- Hartford Street on the east
What will this mean for impacted residents?
- Columbia Gas contractor, RLA Utilities will work street by street to install new main lines in the road right-of-way followed by new service lines up to each individual home or business.
- Gas service will not be impacted until it is time to connect each property to the new gas system. For most customers, gas service will be interrupted for approximately two to four hours. Residents will get advance notice of this service interruption.
- Any surface that has to be disturbed will be repaired. This includes sidewalks, driveways, lawns and landscaping.
Public Meeting
An information meeting for affected residents will take place virtually on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 5pm. See more information about how to connect in the resident packet linked below.
