1. Can I get a copy of a police or accident report?

Yes. To obtain an accident report taken by the Worthington Division of Police, please call (614) 885-4463 Monday though Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The office is closed on holidays.

Records may also be requested by using our police report request form.

2. What number do I call in case of an emergency?

In a true emergency situation, call 9-1-1. For general information, please call our non-emergency number, (614) 885-4463.

3. My Identity was stolen, what do I do?

Assistance can be found through the Identity Theft Unit. Follow this link for information and assistance.

4. Do you take fingerprints for employment?

We no longer offer this service; however, the Franklin County sheriff's office and the City of Columbus do provide this service. There are also private businesses that can take your fingerprints for employment purposes.

5. Can I arrange for a tour of the police department?

Yes, for school age children and adults. Interested parties should contact Community Relations Officer Tammy Floyd at 885-4463. We will work with you to set a mutually convenient time, generally between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Tours generally last about an hour and are tailored to the ages of the tour group.

6. What time is curfew in Worthington?

For children age 12 and under, the hours are from dark to dawn unless with a parent or guardian or on a legitimate errand as directed by his or her parent or guardian. For youth ages 13 to 17, the hours are from midnight to 6:00 a.m. unless he or she is with a parent or guardian or on a legitimate errand as directed by a parent or guardian, or directly en route to or from employment.

7. My neighbor’s dog is barking, what can the police do?

Worthington City Code section 505.09 states no person shall keep or harbor any dog within the Municipality which, by frequent and habitual barking, howling or yelping, creates unreasonably loud and disturbing noises of such a character, intensity and duration as to disturb the peace, quiet and good order of the Municipality. Any person, who shall allow any dog habitually to remain, be lodged or fed within any dwelling, building, yard or enclosure, which he occupies or owns, shall be considered as harboring such dog. Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

8. My neighbor has a car/truck that does not move for days at a time, what can the police do?

Worthington City Code section 351.12 states no person shall park any vehicle on any street in the City for a continuous period of more than twenty-four hours. Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.

9. Can a speaker be requested for a local citizen group meeting?

Yes. The Police Division has officers and detectives who can speak on a variety of topics. For a guest speaker for an upcoming event or meeting, call (614) 436-8634.

10. I’m locked out of my car. Can you help me get into it?

No, The Worthington Division of Police no longer provides this service.

11. What are the age restrictions regarding children and car seats?

Children who are in either or both categories of less than 4 years of age OR less than 40 pounds must be in a child restraint safety seat. Children less than 8 years of age, unless they have reached 4’9’’ in height must be in a booster seat. Children who are 8 – 15 years of age must use a seat belt. Please check the Ohio Revised Code Section 4511.81 for more information.

12. Who do I contact to get a Knox Box?

Call the Worthington Division of Fire at (614) 885-7640 with any questions regarding Knox Boxes.

13. My street hasn’t been plowed yet since the snowstorm. When will it be plowed?

Please contact the City of Worthington Service Department at (614) 431-2425 regarding snow removal.

14. Can I get a photo I.D. at the police department?

No. Contact the Bureau of Motor Vehicles at (614) 752-7500.

15. I received a speeding ticket. Can the police department tell me how much I have to pay?

No. If you received a speeding ticket from the Worthington Division of Police, call the Worthington Clerk of Courts between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at (614) 786-7351. In some cases, you will receive that information when you are handed the ticket.

16. My electric is out. Can the police tell me when the power will come back on?

No. Contact AEP (American Electric Power) at (800) 277-2177.

17. What day will my trash be picked up?

In the City of Worthington, trash, recycling and yard waste are typically picked up on Friday. There are occasions during holiday weeks that trash day shifts to Saturday for that week. Please call the Worthington Department of Public Service for more information (614) 431-2425.

18. Can the police tell me how many points/accidents there are on my driving record?

No. The police are not authorized to release that information. Call the Bureau of Motor Vehicles at (614) 752-7500.
